Cliff hanger but good and full of spice! Loved the push and pull of Tyler and Bella.

This book has a lot of lead up, but no closure. It points you to the next book in the series. If you pay $$ for a book it should stand alone, have a beginning, middle and end.

I was so excited to see Tyler get his story told. I have loved Bella from the previous books. I love these two together. I hope things will work out for them, even though everything is against them. Can’t wait to see what happens in book two.

I have been waiting to get Tyler Hawk’s story since I finished The Necklace Trilogy. This is a contemporary, sensuous, adult, best friend’s little sister, boss/employee, forbidden romance. It is captivating. Provocative. Heartwarming. Spellbinding. I couldn’t put it down, so enthralled by their connection and sizzling chemistry that I read this in one sitting. Tyler Hawk is the new CEO of Hawk Legal after his father murdered Tyler’s ex-girlfriend Allison and then was murdered himself after someone put it all together. Desperately trying to keep the company from any more scandals for the sake of not just their clients but all their employees, Tyler has been reeling from guilt and the mistakes he made. Until she comes to comfort him. Tempt him with her fiery personality. Making him spellbound by her beauty. “The heart wants what the heart wants” Bella Bailey is an attorney at Hawk Legal and agent to the rich and famous. Her half brother Dash Black has been Tyler’s best friend for a long time. Bella knows how to handle big egos, big wallets, and impossible financial negotiations. But can she handle him? The chemistry between them has been simmering for some time and is about to reach the sizzling point of no return. And you definitely don’t want to miss their passionate, intimate, erotic and tender moments. “I’ve never known a man that I can alternatively hate and lust for, until this one” Will Tyler be able to convince Bella to help him for the good of the company when he tells her of the demands of his father’s will? Or will another scandal destroy Hawk Legal? Oh yes! Lisa Renee Jones has upped her game once again with this one and I am eagerly awaiting the conclusion after this cliffhanger ending. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

We got to know Tyler and Bella in the Necklace trilogy, however, you don't have to read that first. This duet can be read as a standalone. Tyler is a bit of a jerk, hence the title of this book, but he's got that controlling, hotness about him that you don't really mind that he's a jerk. Bella is beautiful on the inside and out, but she's no pushover. She's definitely giving Tyler a run for his money. The situation Tyler is in puts both of them in a bit of a situation that leaves book one off with a bit of a cliffhanger. The question is, will she or won't she? Will he find another way or will he convince her? I'm hoping he convinces her, but then I'm also curious to what would happen if he doesn't.

Bravo to this boss, because I loved it! The “the tension between [Bella and Tyler was] downright palpable,” and I felt it! They wanted each other, but it’s complicated. I got emotional and cried with and for Bella at certain points. For me, she was a great combination of “sweet like honey and pure fire at the same time,” and I liked that she gets him. Tyler was an intoxicating mix of “pure dominance with a touch of that arrogance of his that can be as irritating as it is sexy,” and I appreciated that she added layers to him. But after what transpires at the end of the book, will they crash and burn or make it through? I can’t wait to find out!
